sTEaMYx

This week has proved to be an awful week for me. Well, its mainly because of the speed of the connection that sucks so bad. Many of my housemates are downloading and so i cant play shit. It takes 20 seconds for the stupid google homepage to finish loading.

So, by friday, i was slightly happier knowing that i will be coming back to klang and will have better connection at home. Unfortunately i was so wrong. Though the lagginess wasnt as bad, but it still sucks shit. If there is anyone to blame for this, it would be our beloved TM net who has served the country and its people lousily for 14 years.

Now the question is why. I'm sure everyone knows whats the condition with our broadband called streamyx. Everyone's complaining about it. And heck, the employees at TM are so fucking thick skinned that they dont bother. Everytime you call them to complain about the line being slow, they will give u a thousand excuses; asking u to connect directly to the modem, reset the line, let the modem rest, bla bla bla bla bla, but they will never admit that its their fault. Once i called them and I just wanted to ask them whether there was any maintenance as i was sick of going through all those stupid procedures they always tell u to do when u call them. So then, they keep insisting on me giving my streamyx id and then they said they'd check whether there was any problem with my line. Now who is serving who? U call that customer service? I called asking about the maintenance and they ended up not saying anything about it. They just wanna do their job which is to ask u to go thru those stupid procedures over and over again which will lead u to nth. They just cared about their part and their concern instead of urs. Seriously, why do they hav so many ppl at stationed to pick up calls? Heck, if there wasnt a problem with streamyx they need not place so many ppl picking up calls in the first place.

What we need is competition. Yes, competition to get their lazy asses working. However, the sad thing is that TM net monopolies all the last mile connections (final leg of delivering connectivity from a communications provider to a customer) in Malaysia. This renders other companies like Maxis or Digi to be unable to compete with streamyx as satellite broadband will always be slower.

And does this happen in other countries? Hell no. As far as i know, Singapore has Singtel and Singnet which currently provide broadband service that operates at a much faster connectivity than Msia. Arent u sick of the 1kbps download speed? Heck, even China can reach 400kbps. Oooooooooooooooooooooohhh, Malaysia boleh oh, my ASS man.

Streamyx streamyx, tsk tsk. It is so unfortunate that we Malaysians have to put up with this kinda miserable service. So lousy, shitty, laggy, stupid, and idiotic. Even half of the TM net page in wikipedia is about criticism towards it. Haih, pardon my manners, but all i wanna say is, FUCK U sTEaMYx!

post no.3 hohoho

Since i still cant think of anything to write about while posting the 2nd post, i shall steal the 10 questions from the back of the question paper by Ms Chan to meet the requirements of january.

1. A time in subject class when i felt good about myself
When i successfully annoy or make fun of ammani.

2. A time in subject class i felt embarassed about my lack of English
When Ms Chan starts asking definitions and i didnt bring my dictionary (paiseh o ms chan)

3. A task I found very hard and why
To BLOG, because i am so so so so so so so so lazy.

4. My thoughts about homework, quizzes or tests
Homework=bad, quizzes=gud, tests=excellent

5. How college is different from secondary school
One obvious difference is the dress code. U hav to TUCK in ure shirt in high school (though i didnt really bother back then) but so far in college i have only seen one person who tucks in his shirt (hi vege). Other than that, college has shorter school hours compared to secondary school and i really enjoy the former because i am a lazy man = )

6. What i do try and improve my 4 language skills
This is probably my favourite question of all the 10. Honestly, i started learning hokkien by listening to other ppl throwing vulgar words at each other (knn ccb lc lp), and from then on, i managed to improve my hokkien. So MAYBE, this method can be applied while trying to improve my other language skills. Perhaps, canto and chinese, but not english. One example of using this way to strengthen my language will be to translate words from hokkien to canto then to chinese. Eg. Kannine (hokkien) = Diu lei lou mou (canto) = Kan ni lao ma (chinese) (i am not sure about the chinese version)
p.s. sry ms chan i had to do this was trying to prove my point lol

7. Ways I have for learning vocabulary and grammar
I guess the only way of doing the former is to read more and check the dictionary for words u cant define. Grammar wise, i just hav to speak english more often and get humiliated by being corrected for the errors i make while speaking.

8. What I find most difficult about learning English.
Seriously, literature. I mean, to interpret the message of a movie is still ok, but literature? In my opinion, some famous poets like to torture students, because they write those poems that are SO abstract. The irony about this is the more abstract the poem the greater the value and hence the greater the respect earned by the poet. Thus i shall write a poem so abstract that i bet nobody can understand:
Yenne pulenggeh,
Ahmad jia taugeh,
It li sa si gor,
Sing yong cheng de kor.
Happy interpreting.

9. Suggestions for ESL lesson activities
Ms Chan, i think we should have more plays, that way we can remember the events in the novel better and everyone can hav fun =D

10. My response to certain topics
This one hor, next time pls, coz i tak tau apa topic

2nd post

Here i am again writing my next post. I am actually 2 posts short from the previous month, so i guess i hav to make up for it by posting more this month. This post will be about the 6 questions ms chan gave us to post on our blog with the answers:

Where do you read and study?
TBH, i can practically read anywhere, when i am doing my business in the toilet, while walking, in front of my laptop while playing and errr library maybe. Heck, i can even read beside Ammani the chatterbox with 2 of his speakers blasting away. As for studying, i can study anywhere i can read.

What is the best time for you to read?
I cant tell u that, but i can tell u when is the WORST time for me to read, that is during boring lectures, because the words coming out from the teacher will act as a lullaby + the air cond makes the room comfortable so both of these make it a wonderland for sleep and thus i cant read = (

How long do you normally study without a break?
Hmmm... "Normally" for me would be 20 mins max coz i will be half asleep "normally" after 20 mins of reading the textbook.

What type of distraction bother you the most?
Ammani's face.

On average, how many different assignments do you work on in one evening?
Eh paiseh this in TBA hor, haven started on any assignments yet.

What types of rewards might work for you?
TGI pls, i want TGI...(ms effa r u reading this?) No TGI no talk.
